“For love must be shared with others or die. It must give to others all that it received or it cannot remain love. Love can only live in your heart as it propagates itself by sharing.”
If you ain’t sharing your love, your love ain’t growin’. It’s dying in your heart. Think about that. Got love? Want more? Start giving it away!!
LOVE ❤️ LIKE A CHIA SEED! So, it was my birthday and what a celebration it turned out to be with family, friends, and love. Lots of Love. That got me to thinking - Have you ever stopped to think about the gift of love, and that it comes in many different forms, shapes, and sizes? Facebook greetings, cards, texts, presents, and stories shared around the family dinner table.
Some of my special moments of love were a tiny hug from my girl Joy, a partial bag of Chips Ahoy from JenJen, coffee from Sissy, family dinner at Shawna’s and a hand delivered gingerbread house from my dad. These are just some of the ways people demonstrated love to me on my birthday.
Love is designed to be an action. Sure, you can “feel” love, and you can “think about” how you love someone but unless you act on love, what good is love? What if no one acted on the love they felt for me? What if they just thought about me on my birthday, but didn’t take the time to put their love into action?
I’ve been reading “Mountains of Spices,” and I love this quote:
“For love must be shared with others or die. It must give to others all that it received or it cannot remain love. Love can only live in your heart as it propagates itself by sharing.”
If you ain’t sharing your love, your love ain’t growin’. It’s dying in your heart. Think about that. Got love? Want more? Start giving it away!
Isn’t that just like God! To get more love He wants us to give what we have away! That’s upside-down thinking to most people. We think, “Hey, gotta hang on to what I got. Keep all this love for me. Gonna watch out for me” When in fact, that’s the exact opposite of God’s design.
Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 1John 3:18
Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. 2 Corinthians 9:8
The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. Proverbs 11:24-25
Maybe you are in a tough season and no one is sending any love your way. Maybe you feel like your love has dried up to the size of a chia seed. Excellent news! Give it away. Right now. Give some love away.
Go tell your kids you love them and squeeze them tight. Do a chore your spouse hates to do. Pay for someone’s groceries or coffee. Send a card to someone who has been on your mind. Take a treat to your neighbor.
Don’t wait for love to come to you - take a look around. There are endless ways to love someone. And just a mind-blowing little plus to consider. You don’t have to “feel” love to love someone. I know right!!! You can be mad at them or disappointed with them or maybe not even know them – yet you can love them. Over the top awesomeness.
Action is the key to building up your love this season. Do that and you just might find, like water on a chia seed plumps it up, love in action will fatten up your dry and weary heart.
Isn’t God just the most brilliant! You will never go wrong with listening to Him. Thanks again for the most loving birthday ever and loving me out loud. ❤️
